Best Hotels and Resorts

If money is no object you only have 3 choices of places to stay:

Bellagio, Palazzo (Venetian) or Encore (Wynn). The choice will depend on what you value most, such as casino (Wynn and Venetian have fabulous casinos, whilst Bellagio mostly caters to higher-rollers). We have stayed many times at these 3 resorts and we love them all, for different reasons. The Palazzo o Venetian suites are fabulous; the Encore rooms are fresh and modern; Bellagio does not have equally huge rooms (but of course you can always opt for a suite) but the service here is second to none. Amazing spa, amazing gym: you are amongst the elite here.

If you are on a budget – you can safely choose from the still very good MGM, Mirage (we stay at these two resorts very often), Treasure Island (but the rooms are small at TI, so beware, though it’s a very nice little place in every aspect, though the pool area is a little too small for us) or, if you really need to save as much as possible, Montecarlo (the pool area here is not that great, though, just small and incredibly noisy: you can barely here each other scream). Below these you will seriously compromise on comfort, atmosphere, smells, noise, cigarette smoke everywhere or just an overall-run-down atmosphere you can only overlook if you are drunk all the time. A note on cigarette smoking: of the super cheap resorts, the Circus Circus is the only one which, in terms of rooms, have a real policy of smoking and non-smoking: if you are a smoker Circus Circus will treat you well and, if you are a non-smoker, you will be equally respected and they will assure you that you will not stay in a room where you breath other people’s smoke. Out of the low budget resorts, in our extensive experience, Circus Circus is the only one with excellent security and every customer is treated truly equally in this respect. Maybe because they cater for families too and not only to crazy-partiers, but if we are on a strict budget and want to breathe in our own room we always go here.

Best Hotels and Resorts in Las Vegas

The best Vegas accommodation for you answers all your needs: comfort, luxury, customer service, and an array of facilities which meet your specific needs (such as spas, pools, gyms, restaurants, buffets).

Of course it depends on your specific taste, what you consider particularly beautiful, whether you like classical elegance or just crazy extravaganza. However, one can generalize and we are going to narrow down the list from the most objective point of view, taking into consideration a variety of aspects.

Thus, the best establishments in Vegas, in terms of elegance, beauty and customer service is found at:

Bellagio: the best customer service still, absolutely elegant throughout with the best buffet in Vegas, one of the very best gyms – which is exclusive for its guests – and many great restaurants, some amongst the top restaurants in Vegas; moreover, if it is your first time in Vegas and you want to enjoy a truly great view, you must book their fountains view rooms: they not only face the Strip but, more importantly, from your window you will be able to admire the fountain show all day long!). The only drawback in our opinion is that their windows are not as huge as they could be, not the ceiling to floor windows that you can enjoy, for example, at Mandalay Bay or at the Palazzo or the Encore, for example.

Venetian/Palazzo: another awesome resort in terms of their rooms/suites and the ‘theme’ of the resort is of course spectacular. If you are after some photos with the ‘wow’ factor, this resort with give them to you, second only to the real town of Venice! Not so good for the spa/gym experience, although they are at least open until 10pm (most Vegas establishments on the Strip close their gym facilities early so that you can spend your time gambling!). Venetian/Palazzo in Vegas is not so good if you are after a great buffet, since they don’t have one at all (but they do have expensive good restaurants).

Wynn’s/Encore is another very elegant and truly beautiful resort, inside and out, really classy. We love the Encore suites, they are absolutely classy and they offer top quality comfort. Their buffet is – despite how great it looks and despite the line ups sometimes – unfortunately average these days, if you take into account the quality of the dishes (how well they are cooked and prepared, for example).

Mandalay Bay (and its signature resort named ‘the Hotel’) is also fabulous in every aspect and very affordable, with truly beautiful rooms, totally elegant and highly comfortable, especially if you consider how truly affordable they are! Moreover, their spa area is one of the best in Vegas (beautiful, classy, huge).
